Recognizing the interconnections of Human,Animal and Environmental Health are crucial in ensuring resilient livestock systems. The three domains cannot be addressed in isolation.#OneHealth#ZoNoHchallenge
@JackieOwilli@ZoNoHProject Very apt, @jackie. Not just recognising, but also collaborating accross the domains, for livestock system programs to be resilient and sustainable.
🎉We congratulate our Doctoral Fellow, Dr. Samuel Akpan @SamuelAkpan86, whose team won the @FAO@World_FoodForum Global One Health Prize 2024.
The team will work with actors in the wild meat value chain to ensure a safer and more sustainable wild meat system in Lagos.
Aligned with this year’s @World_FoodForum theme, "Good Food for All, Today and Tomorrow," their project focuses on "Applying community and gender-inclusive One Health approaches for safer and more sustainable wild meat use in #Lagos, #Nigeria."

With my in-country supervisors at @acegid end of the year party. Thank you for all you have done for me Prof @christian_happi and @anise Happi. I don't take it for granted.
Our project, #Sentinel, was selected for scale-up support by @ParisPeaceForum in 2021.
As the Paris Peace Forum 2022 #PPF22 starts tomorrow, we share our progress over the last year. Thanks to PPF for the opportunity.

Sometimes it feels like there's no result in this job but today feels special. I feel proud to have supervised these four brilliant Masters students. Interestingly today I got a Keystone scholarship to present our results at the Keystone symposium in Belgium.
Proud supervisor!
It's been 2 weeks of intensive hands-on training in next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics here @acegid. We are grateful to @AfricaCDC @AfricaPGI & @ASLM_News for the partnership.
We thank all the participants for their enthusiasm and dedication. We will miss you!
Glad to be part of the recently concluded @AfricaCDC genomics hands-on training workshop on SARS-COV-2. Thank you to the @_AfricanUnion and @acegid for making this happen.
@SamuelAkpan86@onehealthdev Moreso, the effect of zoonoses on livestock industry has caused low fecundity in livestock production which in many cases result into lost.
We must intensify our efforts to secure a good livelihood not only because of person gain but also because of our national development.
@DrbukolaAlaba@onehealthdev Yes ma. Contact tracing should be carried out in animals too. Once its noticed that a wild animal entered a domestic animal herd, or made contact during grazing, sero-surveillance and testing can be done to trace which animals it had contact with.
My thoughts.......
