When climate shocks and severe droughts hit, it is women smallholders—who operate with less land and fewer safety nets—who lose the most.

At @ILRI, we believe the solution isn't fewer animals, but smarter science. Closing the productivity gap is one of the most powerful climate interventions we have:

🔹 More Milk, Same Herd: Moving from local breeds to well-matched crossbreds can triple milk yields
