C.S. Lewis was an atheist for 30 years.
Then finally, one conversation with J.R.R. Tolkien changed his mind.
So what did Tolkien say?
Here's what they discussed, and how it led to the conversion of the 20th century's greatest theologian…

I'm obsessed with cognitive biases.
A "cognitive bias" is a built-in glitch in our brain that quietly sabotages good decisions.
These are the 11 craziest and most dangerous cognitive biases I've found: 👇
1. The Cobra Effect
Today, we celebrate an amazing gentleman, @brian_ainamaan1 BRIAN AINAMAANI.
BRIAN is a friend, and an Old Boy from St. Henry’s College- Kitovu (SHACK), for the period 2015-2018.
BRIAN was very popular for mimicking teachers at school, especially Bro. Augustine Mugabo (Our Headteacher then), and Bro. Zobole Pius.
His humor always sent us into endless laughter, especially during Easter periods!😂😂
That said, I must state that Brian’s life and transformation are an inspiration and a motivation to many, as told in his popular videos.
Those of us that studied with Brian still can’t believe it!!😅
I remember our days in 2F (Senior two quadrangle), playing “kamese” and doing all sorts of childish things!! It really gets me nostalgic.
Ainamaani has since evolved, and many of us now look up to him as our motivation and role model!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
A very intelligent, calm, polite and foresighted young man.
I am so proudly associated to you, sir.
Happy birthday 🎊🎉🎂🎈🎁
Wishing you many more years of inspiring and motivating us!
Myles Lewis-Skelly was 11 the first time an agent called his mother about him. The agent was moving quickly as he'd identified his quality. MLS was way too young to be snooped around. His mother didn't like that. She said she didn't know anything about football at the time but knew wrong from right.
At 12, a sports brand approached his parents asking to sponsor MLS. His mother said it felt too soon, and she didn't know enough to make important decisions. Her son was sought after and she was just being a mother who stood there with him.
MLS’ parents didn't know much, and they reached other parents who've had bright footballers like their son, and they got some advice. That was how Marcia studied for a Master’s degree in football business. She wanted to know the business too.
After that, she sat for FIFA’s football agent exam. She said she did it to know more about how it runs. Her thesis for her Master’s was on parents’ experience in youth football.
She started a podcast where she invited parents of footballers to talk about raising footballers and supporting them through the journey. She had Alex Iwobi’s dad on the podcast. Emile Smith-Rowe’s dad has been on it too. After that, she opened a website to provide 1-to-1 support for parents of aspiring footballers.
I'm sure she's busier these days as she has to be with her son through those journeys. It's never easy for parents of footballers. It's why when I congratulate those who break through, I congratulate their families too because I understand the sacrifice. I see it.
In 300 (2006), Gerard Butler was told to say “THIS IS SPARTA!” calmly. He tried it, but it felt wrong.
He asked Zack Snyder for one take where he screamed it.
After, Butler asked, “Too much?” Snyder laughed: “Yeah… but it was awesome.”
