When using ITL as collateral to borrow USDT, one of the most important indicators users need to monitor is the Loan-to-Value ratio, or LTV.

🔹 WHAT IS LTV?

LTV represents the relationship between the value of the outstanding loan and the value of the collateral.

For example:

If a user deposits ITL worth 1,000 USDT as collateral and borrows 300 USDT, the LTV ratio is 30%.

The lower the LTV, the safer the loan position. However, when the price of ITL decreases or the outstanding debt increases, the LTV will rise and the loan may move closer to the warning or liquidation zones.

🔹 LTV ZONES ON ITL VAULT

🟢 LTV FROM 0% TO BELOW 50% — SAFE ZONE

The loan is considered to be in a relatively safe position.

ITL Vault is expected to approve new loans with an initial LTV of no more than 30%, creating a safety buffer against market volatility.

However, users should still monitor their loan regularly because the value of ITL may change over time.

🟡 LTV AT 50% — WARNING ZONE

When the LTV reaches 50%, the loan enters the warning zone.

This means the safety margin has become smaller. Users should consider:

• Repaying part of the loan
• Adding more ITL as collateral
• Closely monitoring the ITL price and loan status

🟠 LTV AT 60% — HIGH-RISK ZONE

When the LTV reaches 60%, the loan enters a high-risk zone where action is strongly recommended.

At this level, users should quickly reduce their outstanding debt or add more collateral to bring the LTV back to a safer level.

Without timely action, a further decline in the ITL price could push the loan closer to liquidation.

🔴 LTV AT OR ABOVE 70% — ELIGIBLE FOR LIQUIDATION

When the LTV reaches or exceeds 70%, the loan may become eligible for liquidation.

Liquidation is the process of using part or all of the collateral to recover:

• The outstanding loan principal
• Any unpaid loan fees
• The liquidation fee
• Necessary transaction costs

After all applicable amounts have been deducted, any remaining value from the collateral, if available, will be returned to the borrower.

🔹 WHY IS LIQUIDATION NECESSARY?

Liquidation is not intended to punish borrowers.

It is an essential risk-management mechanism designed to protect the protocol’s funds, maintain liquidity, and support the stable operation of the system.

Without a liquidation mechanism, an undercollateralized loan could cause losses to the protocol and affect other participants.

🔹 HOW CAN USERS AVOID LIQUIDATION?

Borrowers should:

• Avoid borrowing the maximum amount unless absolutely necessary
• Keep their LTV well below the warning zone
• Regularly monitor the ITL price and loan status
• Add more collateral when the LTV increases
• Repay part or all of the loan before reaching the liquidation threshold
• Avoid waiting until the last moment to take action

ITL Vault will clearly display the LTV ratio, warning status, and relevant loan information within the DApp so users can actively manage their positions.

During the initial stage, liquidation is expected to be carefully reviewed and approved through a hybrid operating model that combines smart contracts with the protocol’s risk-control process.

The goal of ITL Vault is not to liquidate users’ assets. Our purpose is to help ITL holders access liquidity in a more transparent, responsible, and secure way.

Building a Stronger ITL Treasury for the Long Term

As the @inter_link ecosystem continues to grow, one of the most important questions is how to manage a long-term ITL treasury in a way that benefits the entire ecosystem. Today, InterLink Labs has officially submitted a proposal to @itl_fdn requesting approval to launch a Reverse Auction mechanism.

Under this proposal, community members who wish to sell their ITL can voluntarily submit both the amount of ITL they would like to sell and the price they are willing to accept. Based on these submissions, @inter_link Labs may selectively repurchase ITL directly from the community. Participation is entirely voluntary, giving every holder complete control over whether to participate and at what price.

The goal of this initiative is not simply to buy tokens from the market. It is to establish a transparent, fair, and efficient way to gradually build a strategic ITL treasury while allowing the market itself to determine value through voluntary participation.

One of the most important discussions surrounding this proposal is what should happen to the repurchased ITL. There are two possible directions. The first is to permanently burn all repurchased ITL, reducing the circulating supply and strengthening the scarcity of the token over time. The second is to use those tokens to reward the people who continue to build the ecosystem, including ambassadors, developers, builders, KOLs, community contributors, and future ecosystem initiatives. Both approaches provide long-term value but through different mechanisms—one by reducing supply, the other by accelerating ecosystem growth.
