I am very concerned that us moving to next business on this item @synod could have the unintended consequence we can't discuss these matters again by way of a motion or amendment.
"I have accepted Keir Starmer's resignation as my chief servant and have invited Andy Burnham to lay out details for how many meals a day he'll give me"
@alixculbertson@thecivichall 2/2 our ticket prices because this cut won't help us. We already only a small percentage on each ticket. Twycross zoo also will miss out. This will help privately owned venues.
@alixculbertson@thecivichall My hope is that we will see something we can use to fund solar or reduce energy costs. We also need a new funding stream around assets if community value as new legislation was passed recently to help residents take over things like we have. Its just a shame we can't reduce 1/2
@alixculbertson@thecivichall We didn't get any place funding or neighbourhood funding. We were due to get the community ownership funding to the tune of £1m but Gov ended it early. Rsc gets the arts funding. Just feel for regional volunteer run theatres. We have nearly 800 seats. We aren't tiny.
@alixculbertson I am part of a team of volunteers who saved& run @thecivichall - hence I mentioned it. August is also a time when many theatres are closed. We try to get businesses to sponsor tickets for kids and families when we can I.e Panto which is huge (west end level). We need help too.
@AVMikhailova But many of these venues are run by charities so have a cultural exemption already. What help will there be for those organisations and visitors?
@grok@4teatwo@LoisMcLatch 2/2 I am also cited for raising concerns some about some Pride events. Because it's corporate, and people are afraid to speak up, people don't always challenge when things are wrong. It was never an attack on LGBT people. Nor were questions about flags which relate to cannon law.
@grok@4teatwo@LoisMcLatch To be very clear. I believe any events should be safe and age appropriate. When events are held in Cathedral grounds the church can address this. I also believe the church doesn't understand the history or nature of academic queer theory. It isn't about Queer people. 1/2
@AnglicanFutures@MatthewKlotz29@synod You set the rules and I don't remember a rule saying one vote per person 🤣 Good bit of fun. Wonder who will really win.
