@Hogdale_ It’s a terrible trade not because of Curtis Mead per se. It’s a terrible trade because young controllable pitching demands a premium which Breslow most certainly did not get. Mead is a horrible defender and was DFAd by the White Sox 4 months ago. Could have done MUCH better.
@SamOlbur The bench Dansby mantra didn’t age well. I continue to think that although a day or 2 off is fine to give guys a mental reset, benching the core veteran players of your team with established track records is foolish. If they don’t perform, the Cubs are dead in the water anyway.
@TrashyTaylor25@SamOlbur Counsel is not going anywhere. Jed is not going anywhere. The core of this team is not going anywhere. Nor should they. This is baseball. We are all passionate and frustrated. Rant if you want to but it does nothing. They are professionals and will figure it out.
@sportsfan420123@SamOlbur He wasn’t asking the question to get an answer. If he was, you answered it. So then why did he ask it again on the pod? He was being facetious which is fine but don’t pretend he was just seeking information.
@TrashyTaylor25@SamOlbur You couldn’t be more wrong about being an “everyone gets a trophy kind of guy.” But as a former player I understand that nobody wants to win more than the players do and ranting on the radio or X or whatever does nothing. They will work it out. Have a little faith.
@chisportsfan_@SamOlbur I’m not telling anyone else not to listen. I’m just saying it has become the same thing over and over again and is not for me. If venting helps you cope with the down times then by all means continue. We all want the same result - a Cubs championship.
@chisportsfan_@SamOlbur People who celebrated the Bregman signing and the Nico extension are now calling Hoyer an idiot for making those moves. You can’t have it both ways. That’s all I’m saying. We are all frustrated but take a step back and look at the big picture. It’s not that bad.
@SamOlbur The pod has been my drive to work entertainment for quite a while. Matt used to kind of balance things out but lately he just lets it go. He even wanted to send Busch to the minors earlier this season! You know these guys aren’t as bad as they are playing at the moment.
@SamOlbur There’s a difference between not being positive and being over the top ranting negative every single day. Granted - they have been bad. But there is only so much extreme negativity you can listen to. There are other podcasts out there that haven’t gone in this direction.
@tnemo_12@SamOlbur I watch every game. Most of them in person. I’m just not going to go postal every time they slump. It’s baseball. This happens. Everything is not a crisis.
@SamOlbur All of you that are jumping off the bandwagon and giving up on established major leaguers when they struggle - don’t be jumping back on with this turns. I can assure you that Bregman and others are more frustrated than we are. Relax. It’s not always going to be smooth.
@LockedOnCubs Guys - I love the pod and listen every day. But you have to reign in the negativity. This is a very good team, particularly offensively. Bregman does not suck. Busch should not be sent to minor leagues. Take a deep breath and get a grip. It’s a 162 game marathon.
@tnemo_12@SamOlbur OK - if he literally wanted to know the answer to that question then I guess you are right. Just seems to me to be another facetiousl question aimed at criticizing yet another player. I want the Cubs to play well as much as anyone. I just don’t get the over the top criticism
