@Adyn_AOK Hmmm... Nihilism = a philosophical worldview that precedes the reality of lack of objective reasoning/answer to human existence.
You don dey reach there 😅
Fatima was told to drown her son or abandon him in a forest to die. His crime? Being born with Down syndrome. Her story is one of many that led Safiya Atta to build a movement for for children with Down syndrome. My debut piece for @guardian.

Hello friends, as the Fall semester begins, I’d be grateful if you would consider including The Naming in your syllabi, reading groups, & course conversations. The collection explores ancestry, cosmology, and the other things. Check it out here: https://t.co/tnHFnsTwr3
Making editorial decisions at a magazine sometimes can be very tricky. You know what you're looking for, and say no to certain works you almost feel you're letting go not because you don want them.
But once in a while, you get a submission really spikes you. You don't even try to edit it so much so that the uncut feeling of it is felt by readers too. This was the case with this short essay about a young man nearly losing his friend to the #manosphere. 😂😂
I have forgotten the original title Ubong sent, but in typical habit I re-titled it to this, which felt more apt: A Stint in Redpillville. And Fanen, of course, delivered on the illustration.

@camelaeto The people handling the literature curriculum are trying. And I love the effort they put in selecting good literary pieces for these young ones. The problem now is how to ensure those students actually read.
@Msliterarylover Native son did something to me... Pitied the protagonist. The story introduced me to how deeply racism and repressive relationships can ruin a people. Even when the gesture of love is extended, it was difficult not to misinterpret it as a mockery.
