How Arab are Jews?

I flew to Mexico to find the Jews of Mexico.

And I discovered:
Many Jews in Mexico came from Syria and Lebanon
Their families fled persecution and came to Mexico looking for freedom
They speak Arabic, Hebrew and Spanish
They built some of the most successful companies in Mexico (Comex, Kaltex, Casa Saba)

And today the Syrian and Lebanese Jews make up one of the most successful communities in Mexico.

They are Arab. Jewish. And Mexican. Three identities that history often tries to pull apart. But in Mexico, they came together.
