People are asking how I predict things. It’s very simple: You read history, and then you assume people are the same and historical events can still happen.
@michaeljburry 1610s, "a smatterer, pretender to knowledge," a term of contempt. Late Latin sciolus "one who knows a little," diminutive of scius "knowing," from scire "to know"
Didn’t know that one. Seems quite audience-limiting for a tweet like this.
Blacksmith graduate Paul Reilly created this masterful 7 foot tall door with a Roman arch inspired by Bottaro for his capstone project. Truly a capstone for the ACBA record books, Paul's composition and articulation of shape and curve are displays of his dynamic drafting skills and technical expertise. Paul, we can't wait to see the work you produce in the coming years!
Hey everyone, I’ve been reeling a bit since Sunday. But you know what? I don’t think it should end here. I don’t want to let you guys down. I will make more videos.
I want this to go somewhere.
Stop eating out until you know the owners of the restaurant. Pocket jerky, intermittent fasting, plan ahead. Watch bad street food videos and assume worse for anything unknown. Low trust. The past was high trust. We are in a distant future of negative trust.
@cobie@counterpartytv Might just be an AML move, forced from external forces. This initial charge disrupts the third party skin economy significantly.
Hard to know straight away but subsequent market patches may be more revelatory.
Could also just be tweaking/testing for upcoming, similar markets.
@Fubgun They don’t play the game themselves nor care to understand those who do actually play. No one is really in charge over there anymore and their attention is split so poe1 stuff will be backports of QoL stuff plus whatever is easy.
Just roll dice & choose a league start at random.
Much like how the wolves reintroduced to Yellowstone in the 90s helped quell a pestilent deer population and induced an ecosystem change on a geographic level, San Francisco is a city plagued by an ecosystem of snivelling tech betas who are sorely in need of a natural predator.
Everyone knows you never let the tech guy truly be in charge. The genius must be curtained by the showman, the business must be steered by the ruthless captain. The Bay Area is what you get when various disheveled autists develop a bubble environment where they can spew out nonsense ideas and fund them through suckling VC teats, made available through the sheer volume of dorks perpetuating a false culture of rationalist tidbits and abused math buzzwords.
These people really think they can graphic design their way into cultural taste. That they'd get on a podium and shit together some cute minimalist logo graphic that becomes a new consumer religion just because Steve Jobs did it once. Perhaps a smattering of obese podcast listening computermen and a small horde of IT Indians would clap for your existence but the world regards you with indifference.
And much like some comical ancient depiction of hell, you people despise each other for the very things you are. A silicon Vatican City of sociopathic dumpy plain hapas and their pasty half white half Jewish lanky boyfriends all fawning fingernails at cafeteria lit wine bars speaking in LinkedIn pidgin figuring out who to fuck, who to fuck over, and what it gets you that week.
The little incentive games and hollow networking hits worse than when New Yorker scumbags do it, at least they're on enough coke to be funny about their vile opportunism. SF blatant social signalling is putrid in its soullessness because it's built upon an ecosystem of people who fundamentally don't know how to socialize and had to learn how to pretend through YouTube tutorials and confidence books. Bay Area dorks playing Machiavelli is like toddlers playing hide and seek from their parents by hiding under a bedsheet on the floor.
None of you are "building the future" you're building mediocre products which will one day be stolen, subsumed, and replicated more efficiently for less cost by the Chinese. That is, unless you're just scamming VCs with vaporware.
All of this would be heavily corrected by a natural predator of some sort, something a bit more unavoidable than a homeless fenthead shitting his pants and screaming at you while you speedwalk from the office lobby to your Tesla. Someone that shoves you into the proverbial locker, makes you feel just enough fear that you remember what it's like to be a human being.
Anyway, uh, fuck you.
