The burden of a parent's failure is often put on a child's shoulder who is too young to understand it. The more unsuccessful the parent is the more crueler they are to their kids. This is more common in poor households because they see kids more like cattle & less like human beings.

In a twisted stockholm syndrome way most such kids when grown up are extremely thankful to their parents. They shower them with gifts and all type of luxuries and feel extremely good doing so. They become like a abused dog trying to please their masters.

The parents are also very proud they get to kang on their children's achievement putting their own useless life on backburner and give all their love to their grandchildren who see them as angelic beings. It's a very fooked up thing NGL.
