2,001 database queries to build one list of customer totals, and every test passed.

One for the customers, then one per customer, because Sum() executes immediately. With 15 customers in dev it's 16 fast queries, and nobody notices.

The fix: describe the whole result as one query and let the database do the math.

- First, make it work
- Then make it pretty
- Add safety with lots of tests
- Stay away from over-engineering
- Refactor if needed (and it usually is needed)

As a techie, many might assume that I’d love Silicon Valley TV show, Mr Robot etc but for me it is quite the opposite. That is not entertainment enough for me. It is like watching my life.

However, a show like Power and Top Boy, are more intriguing. It is taking me to a place I’ve never been. And the most interesting part is that people actually live like this.

I also enjoyed suits, Seal Team etc. Things that are not my workday.
