I was travelling, so I missed the reason Tsakani is getting gaslighted. She dared to be honest on her audit outcomes for the City of Cape Town as she’s always done with others when warranted. Now suddenly her salary is an issue.
@BusinessTechSA In fact, the AG Tsakani Maluleke should get even more for the extraordinary work she does!👏 Most of these SIU investigations are as a result of her referrals when her office does it work. Our very first Black female AG!🤌 No attack will be tolerated against her!
Tjo guys! I'm slow! I saw this headline and just thought it was some boring insignificant stuff. Kanti it's a hit piece on the Auditor General? Coincidence that it comes after her audit report on Cape Town? Why is this an issue since her salary is governed by the Public Audit Act?
And a cursory search will tell you the late Kimi Makwetu was paid R6.8 million at the time of his sad passing in 2020. Why is Tsakani's salary a thing for you now when the adjustment from 5.2 mil to R5.9 was recorded in April 2025?
In any case, she could easily earn north of R15 million at a private-sector audit firm. Class dismissed.
The Constitutional Court has found the Western Cape government has failed to comply with its obligation to provide affordable housing in areas such as Cape Town CBD and Sea Point.
The failure perpetuates apartheid spatial housing patterns.

Nothing as annoying as drivers who approach the “Tag Only” booth at the tollgates knowing very well they don’t have an e-tag. Now we must back up as you shamefully reverse.

@nasiphim@CityTshwane Hello Mayor. While one must applaud the accountability approach you employ, I also read the comprehensive communique from the Minister of @DBE_SA and it sounds about right that the national department cannot account for schools’ debts when there is a provincial office. Response?
