Sad to miss SfN, but thrilled my SfN2022 poster is out - work w/ @kaytye & an AMAZING team @mcpatarino@Kelly_nk23@rvpamintu @felixtaschbach @haoli1988 @crlee94 et al finds the BLA-mPFC circuit is a key substrate for the negative impact of isolation. 🧵👇

A recent study by @PatelReesha@fvarodayan@MelissaHerman4 et al., found a surprising new link between central amygdala CRF and intoxication that suggests low CRF may predict greater severity of relapse. https://t.co/FHS2ANvGsC @npp_journal
Congratulations to our amazing 2021 Scripps Cardiology Graduating Class! 🎉 We are so proud of you guys!!
✨Dr. Christoffel Van Niekerk @christoffvn > EP, Univ. of Pennsylvania ✨Dr. Andrew Cheng > HF, Cedars Sinai ✨Dr. Rajbir Sidhu > Gen Cardiology at Stanford #Classof2021
Finally out, my postdoc work with Marisa Roberto @scrippsresearch found that chronic alcohol alters the brain immune cell landscape and that IL-10 normalizes aberrant amygdala GABA transmission and dependence-induced escalation of alcohol intake! https://t.co/neckq9XtLC
Amazing new study by a talented group @scrippsresearch, including my brilliant sister @PatelReesha! Chronic alcohol use reshapes the brain’s immune landscape, driving anxiety and addiction. I need more IL-10 in my amygdala!

Great work today by our 3rd yr #cardiolgy fellows giving their #research presentations via zoom. Outstanding job by @BethHillDO @RolaKhedrakiMD & Vartan Garibyan. Now get those manuscripts done! Very fortunate to be able to work with all the amazing @ScrippsCVFellow everyday
Ever wonder how neuronal activity evolves during recovery from anesthesia? So grateful to have worked with Yumi Ishizawa to figure it out - wouldn't have been possible without her amazing talent and insights! https://t.co/BMLXTspZ82
Distinct cortical mechanisms govern loss and gain of consciousness following anesthesia (propofol)- not a simple inverse in process as previously thought! - and the frequency of neural oscillations during recovery is predicative of post-recovery performance.
Feels like a Scripps CV fellow #JACC issue with an editorial from @RolaKhedrakiMD, @EvanMuse and @SteveSteinhubl
. Addtionally original work on cardiac MRI with stress perfusion with @SandeepMehtaMD and (Jorge Gonzalez) @Scripps_CT_MRI. #WhyCMR#soproud ❤️♥️
New article in @JACCJournals looking at DOACs in patients with afib and mitral stenosis. Concerning as to number of patients excluded due to no OAC (higher bleeding risk pts) but intriguing. Need RCTs to better understand. https://t.co/1fBVrPUaqJ
@ScrippsCVFellow @dngibson2
Using short axis first to locate then long axis to see needle and then wire clearly enter vessel lumen was definitely helpful. Great teaching also helps
@Sandeep22680690 did a great job. It was a dry stick. No blood return but he used the needle in the pinnacle precision kit to visualize the needle tip on US. @ScrippsCVFellow
