π§΅1/ New preprint! π§ Loneliness is a state that is comprised of a constellation of features (drive to socialize, unpleasant state, heightened vigilance) and we found that these features map onto different parallel circuits.
9/ Loneliness is a major risk factor for mental and physical health issues. Understanding these circuits could pave the way for targeted interventions to treat social dysfunction in psychiatric disorders.
