When you are a 5-12 football team, moving on from quality players is never a good idea unless you are trying to start a complete rebuild.

I don't get the Jones and Sutton talk right now. Make it make sense.

@Hojac_ @AlexVSports It's a combination of things, but contract value matters the most. I.E. if Jones signs for 18 million elsewhere and the Broncos sign McGary for 16-17 million, those deals offset and Denver gets nothing. Doesn't matter if they sign 18 guys at 1 million a piece.

@sportssearching Yes and no. With Sutton gone the receiver room is inconsistent, unproven, and injury prone. With Bolles gone, you're now replacing 4 starters on the OL.

Nobody is "irreplaceable", but shipping off quality starters when you have no depth is a bad idea unless you blow it all up.

Not great. Jeudy has struggled to find consistent production. Patrick is coming off of a torn ACL. Thielen is declining and Hamler has multiple injury concerns.

And the depth behind them is severely unproven.

You cannot move on from Sutton and make me believe in the WR room.

You don't move on from quality players when you are a 5-12 football team. Especially when your answers are a 3rd year player with consistency issues and a bunch of guys that have injury concerns.

Sutton should feel slighted a bit. But he has to look in the mirror as well.

It took several long discussions, film review and a deep dive into the numbers, but Erick is absolutely correct here.

On a per game basis, Dremont Jones stacks up well with several of the top names in the game.

Over the past couple of months, I kept seeing comments about Jones' value and how his value isn't more than 10-15 apy.

When you look at comparable players, it was obvious that was low. Not sure why there is such disrespect from fans for him that constantly make him seem worse
