Bengaluru, Karnataka: Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy says, "The KPSC authority was established with a good intention. Can the KPSC be blamed for the mistakes committed by some politicians? Recently, a post of Examination Controller was created, and an IAS officer was appointed to ensure that examinations are conducted transparently. However, recently, candidates have started being taken to resorts to write examinations.

After I spoke about this, Priyank Kharge raised two issues. One of them was that I had gone to jail and met someone. The Home Minister said that I had earlier met the former KPSC chairman in jail. The candidates had cleared the 2011 batch. When the KPSC sent the list of 362 candidates to the government, it had not asked the government to put it on hold. However, the process was stopped after a complaint was allegedly filed by someone associated with Ugrappa. Later, the candidates challenged the matter in court. That batch was cancelled during Basavaraj Bommai’s tenure. In the subsequent examination, several candidates were selected. A pregnant woman had appeared for the examination. She had to go around visiting the houses of political leaders. A candidate who was blind in both eyes had also been selected, but he, too, lost the opportunity. That candidate is now an IAS officer in West Bengal. It was Kharge himself who cancelled that batch."
