The Regional Resource Centre for North-Eastern States (RRCNE), a branch of NHSRC, New Delhi, organized a two-day Regional Review cum Workshop on Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) for priority districts across the 08 (eight) North-Eastern states. The event which was held in Guwahati, Assam, was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of Dr. G. B. Singh, Advisor, CP-CPHC, NHSRC and Dr. Raj Prabha Moktan, Director, RRCNE.
The workshop aimed to review the performance of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in priority districts, deliver targeted training, formulate actionable plans, and strengthen monitoring mechanisms to ensure continuous improvements in CPHC delivery. Additionally, it sought to reorient State and District Nodal Officers by addressing field-level challenges.
A total of 37 District Nodal Officers (DNOs) from priority districts and 17 State representatives from the CPHC and National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) participated in the workshop. Furthermore, 40 DNOs joined the workshop online from various districts within the North-Eastern region.
The workshop featured insightful sessions led by eminent resource persons. The notable contributors included Dr. Mattews Numpeli, State Level Executive Member for Palliative Care under Kerala's Aardram Mission, who provided extensive overview of palliative care and strategies for sustainable implementation and Mr. Anand Kr. Sahu from the National Health Mission (NHM) Chhattisgarh who provided valuable insights into the software for calculating Performance and team Based Incentives (PBI/TBI) developed and used in Chhattisgarh. During the training, the participants were engaged in enriching discussions, addressing issues and clarifying doubts regarding the implementation of CPHC, various portals, insights into Universal Health Care (UHC), mentoring of Community Health Officers (CHOs), adoption of AAM by medical colleges, etc. The workshop provided valuable clarity and actionable insights, contributing significantly to strengthening CPHC in the region.

A team from the Regional Resource Centre for North-East States facilitated the "Training on Free Diagnostic Services for Laboratory Technicians" at the Hotel Tibet, Gangtok. The event was organized by the NHM, Sikkim, in collaboration with the Healthcare Technology Division, RRCNE. The training was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of Dr. Anusha Lama, PDHS cum MD, NHM Sikkim, Dr. Raj Prabha Moktan, Director of RRCNE, Dr. D.C.Sharma, PDHS, SNO NHM and Dr. Salona Mukhia, ADHS and SPM, NHM Sikkim and State Officials of NHM Sikkim.
A total of 99 Laboratory Technicians from District Hospitals (DHs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) have undergone training on the Free Diagnostic Service Initiative (FDSI) in two batches. The training encompassed both theoretical and practical components. Resource persons from Biochemistry and Microbiology departments of Sir Thutob Namgyal Memorial Hospital (STNM) and pathologist from DH, Gyalshing provided the theoretical sessions on tests performed in the Biochemistry, Microbiology and Pathology covering topics such as sample collection and rejection criteria, test procedures, biosafety levels, rapid test kits, internal quality control and External Quality. The hands-on training was offered to technicians on operating Biochemistry Analysers and Haematology Analysers by service engineers of Trans Asia.
The training was a great success as the participants highlighted its importance especially after a long gap of more than ten years. They also expressed a strong desire for more frequent trainings with an extended duration. The training strengthened the theoretical knowledge in laboratory services and provided the laboratory technicians with the essential skills to operate Haematology and Biochemistry Semi-Auto analysers. This enhancement in laboratory services, coupled with the availability of these diagnostic tools, will help the state of Sikkim in reducing the out-of-pocket expenses for diagnostics.

@MoHFW_INDIA is committed to improve the Health & Nutrition Indicators in 500 poor performing & under-developed Blocks across country as an integral part of Aspirational Blocks Programme.
More than 200 participants are attending the workshop including State Nodal Officers of Quality Assurance, Comprehensive Primary Health Care, State Programme Managers and State and Central Nodal Officers of Aspirational Blocks.
