New school year, new books with each of my kids. My (new/now) middle schooler and I are diving in to Let it shine: Stories of Black Women freedom fighters by @AndreaDavisPink and I am so grateful for these hertories and for the prayers from my child for justice after reading.
@Avery_Smit You popped up in my feed and I’m a methodologist who also focus my work on storytelling. How do you come into the work? Can you tell it as a story of how you encountered the work and, then, narrate how the work informs your own thesis?
@MayorBowser what time will you be releasing last weeks COVID metrics? Plenty of us are still concerned and monitoring what’s going on especially in light of lifting mask mandates.
@MayorBowser why are you ignoring the recommendations for school reopening from the SBOE — the officials we elected to make decisions about our schools? Things have changed since May Mayor, you are putting our unvaccinated children at risk without any options for families.
If inclusion feels like a sigh, an eye roll, a why, an inconvenience—it’s not inclusion, it’s ableism. Not being ableist looks like starting with broad inclusion and works to design, plan, and dream from there. #DisabiltyPrideMonth
Let me just say here, now , and everywhere I am grateful for being called out, called in, and the opportunities people have given me to learn. Don’t double down when you’re wrong. It’s awkward, is uncomfortable, it’ll wake you up at night. And it should! This is how we grow.
@rayortlund The way you’re engaging here is not helpful. Twitter’s been a platform to lay bare pain and suffering, allow people to quickly share information of injustice, and help understanding—Justice and love are Godly and worthy. I get not gossiping, but God is concerned with our pain.
Anyone here in Minnesota and driven with something hanging from your mirror? Maybe a mask? Maybe something that smells good? Just curious how that went.
Woke up and prayed for Duante Wright’s family and loved ones. Then, I donated to the ACLU of Minnesota. Ideas for action steps and supporting those grieving and fighting for accountability in Minnesota from afar? https://t.co/QZ6sVRi2BX
