Beyond Survival: how women rebuild their lives after domestic abuse and experience post-traumatic growth https://t.co/vVgVYyTotk
Post-traumatic growth is under acknowledged in domestic abuse survivors. It’s means so much more than recovery.
Following an abusive relationship, many question how they will trust another intimate partner again. Please click on the link below for a beautiful answer to this question. https://t.co/kSdtbJ3qBj

@Rachel_SUTDA Excellent news. It’s a start but we need to see many more of these prosecutions for it to become a proper deterrent. How did this type of dangerous and abusive behaviour become so shockingly normalised?
@DrProudman It’s shocking & true. Very few of the people working in the family court arena understand domestic abuse, although they’re dealing with cases involving it every day.
@DrProudman Yes it was shocking. It can be a good thing when trials are made public, there can be a deterrent value. However in this case it was very similar to a public execution by hanging with some truly disturbing audience participation!
@JMoncktonSmith@idonewsilence Non fatal strangulation is becoming almost normalised. I don’t think readily available violent porn helps. This type of behaviour is dangerous & abusive.
@diamoundmedusa@Rachel_SUTDA Very good to hear. Non fatal strangulation is a shocking, disturbing and highly dangerous crime, it is becoming worryingly more common.
