Ok this is for the jobless vile IDIOTS who have wasted their entire night threatening me and tweeting about how I’ve ONLY lived in Assam.

If you had seen any of my talks and lectures you’d have known that living in Assam was only a part of my journey.

For 15 years , I have travelled twice or thrice a year to the NE. To states with active insurgency. Spending sometimes months, sometimes weeks and sometimes days. It depends on what I’m researching or who I’m there to meet.

I have interviewed and met the cadre and their leaders , some in hiding, making my trips even more perilous, just in the pursuit of first hand information.

I have stayed with villagers, travelled by whatever transportation that was available, stimes 10-15 hours sitting cramped in a local bus, till my knees have needed long term physiotherapy.

I have walked uphill and downhill with my bags that have weighed kilos. Just so that I could get an interview but have had to come back empty handed because the person was too scared, only to go back the next day to try again.

I have eaten a variety of food, some I’ve liked some I’ve hated. Just because villagers whose homes I had to live in at times and sleep on the floor, feel appreciated.

I have been in areas like Changlang and Tirap, Haflong amongst MANY others , in the years of active insurgency. Without access to mobile phones , having to call my mother once in three days when I would go to a STD booth.

Forget me, my parents had to STEEL themselves to let me go.

So for those haters, please check if your so called academics have done half of what I have. Check if they have done anything at all for a state that they don’t belong to. Forget the women ask the men if they have the courage.

Or do you all only have the courage to coordinate attacks on social media?
