My first job as Chair was making sure the board was following the highest ethical standards.
Together, we worked to eliminate questionable practices. I worked with state legislators to allow county boards to remove their chairperson, making for more transparency and oversight.
Honored to be endorsed by @TammyforIL:
"Breaking ground in Lake County as the first Democratic chairwoman, Sandy has instilled much-needed reforms, cost-saving measures, and helped lead the county through its strong COVID response. I am pleased to endorse her for re-election."
As Board Chair, I have pushed to reduce unnecessary spending. I’m proud that the board passed the FY20 budget unanimously - with no increase in the tax levy for the first time in over 20 years.
I'm honored to be endorsed by the @dailyherald again.
I'll continue to live out my pledge when I became Chair to Listen to Understand, Debate Respectfully, and Seek Common Ground. It's critical that we put partisanship aside and focus on improving quality of life in Lake County.
I am grateful for @SierraClubIL's endorsement!
"Sandy has always been a champion of our environment, and the Board has made great strides on environmental and energy issues since she became Chair. Her voice is critical for a clean, safe and strong environment in Lake County."
I am incredibly honored to have received the endorsement of U.S. Senator @DickDurbin. These kind words from this highly respected leader in the Senate mean so much to me.
Thanks to Illinois House Rep. Bob Morgan for all of the support! It has been my pleasure to "take over" his socials all week. While he is running unopposed in this election, I encourage everyone to take a quick look at all of the great things he is doing for our community.
It has been my pleasure to have Sandy Hart share her priorities for our county this week. From protecting our green spaces, to keeping our county government running efficiently, Sandy is exactly the kind of leadership we need.
Between COVID precautions and concerns about voting by mail, voting may seem complicated this year. The fact is, you have more choices than ever before, and you should make a plan to vote by whichever method works best for you.

"When my fellow board members elected me Chair of the Lake County Board in 2018, I was determined to right-size government - to eliminate wasteful spending and find efficiencies to save money." (1/2)
"I first ran for the County Board because I love our Forest Preserves. We have bike paths, walking trails, gorgeous natural surroundings & of course fabulous dog parks. I feel lucky to be able to help restore & protect our open spaces as part of the Forest Preserve Board." (1/2)
Hi everyone – I'm back on Twitter.
Be sure to check out Rep. Morgan's socials all week to learn more about why we think your vote for my re-election is in the best interest of Lake County and the State of Illinois as a whole!
For this week’s #DownBallotTakeOver we’re turning our social media to Lake County Board Chair, @sandymhart!
Sandy has been working hard to protect our environment, and bringing fiscal responsibility and ethics to Lake Co. Take it away, Sandy...
Sharing data and services have helped many of our communities better serve their constituents. I helped lead the charge on data and service sharing to reduce costs and increase value to #TaxPayers#Twill#LakeCounty
I want to remind everyone to fill out their census. This is vital to receive the funding we need to make improvements to our roads and schools. Get counted and let your voice be heard. #GetCounted#Census2020
