Voting starts TODAY!
Election Day (November 3) is the LAST chance to vote, but it's not the ONLY day you can vote.
VOTE your way: Early in-person at your county auditor's office, by mail, or in-person (socially distanced) at your polling place (May be different due to staffing)
It occurred to me that campaigning is much like walking into a crowd without a mask during a respiratory pandemic... You broadcast to people with your every breath and some "get it".... those who "get it" spread it to "some" others at other times and in other places.
The first Monday of September is set aside as a national tribute to the workers of America... the people who are the backbone of the strength and prosperity of our country. That recognition was not a gift. It was fought for and earned.
Two months until the chance to vote is gone. Ballots will be in the mail to voters in Iowa next month! My ballot request form is ready to mail, today. Have you mailed yours?
Sure wish we had robust broadband internet access across ALL of the state of Iowa.
Rural Democrats across the state who just want to hear our Democratic leaders speak & to celebrate with the folks receiving awards tonight are getting stuttering video... if any video at all.
COVID is a reportable disease. According to federal law, it is illegal to not report positive cases to @IAPublicHealth. The purpose is so we can trace & contain outbreaks. This edict by Iowa’s leaders is anti-public health & anti-Iowans’ health.
Remember when @JasonKander told us to grab an oar? I just want us to do that for racial justice now.

We have an opportunity to re-think how our economy works and who it works for... a silver lining to the misery of the pandemic. Do we have the political will and the courage to do it?
I'd like to think that the kind of people drawn to public health as a career choice would be the kind of people least likely to bend to political machinations.
People need clear information they can count on to make good decisions for themselves.
IA and GA could do better.
If you plan to vote in the Primary election by mail in Iowa and have not requested a ballot, yet... the request has to be RECEIVED BY the County Auditor in your county by 5:00 pm on Friday, May 22.
If you need to, you can register to vote by the same date and time.
It is amazing the difference a space can make:
We can be a part of the solution by making sure we are apart while we figure out this virus.
Be part of the solution. Social distancing saves lives.
