After a year away from X, I'm back.
Over the last year I've been building CodeHive, an online coding platform.
I'll be sharing:
โข Product updates
โข Engineering lessons
โข Startup mistakes
โข Freelancing experiments
Let's see where this goes.
#buildinpublic
We turned an idea into our first coding tournament. ๐
We just completed the first-ever CodeHive tournament!
One big lesson: getting people interested is one thing. Getting them to show up and participate is another.
A small milestone for CodeHive
#BuildInPublic
We just completed our first-ever CodeHive coding tournament! ๐
From building the platform to organizing a real competition, it's been quite a journey.
A big thank you to everyone who participated and made this happen. โค๏ธ
This is just the beginning.
#BuildInPublic#DSA
8 months building CodeHive. Posted everywhere. Zero signups.
Then I organized a 1v1 coding tournament.
40 strangers registered.
Still had to DM them to create accounts.
People don't adopt products because you post about them. Give them a reason to use them.
#BuildInPublic
@oderajoseph A handful so far, but honestly, getting them to create accounts took more effort than getting the registrations. ๐
I'm learning that interest doesn't automatically translate into activation.
๐ข We're organizing the first CodeHive Coding Tournament!
Calling all developers and DSA enthusiasts to put their problem-solving skills to the test.
๐ Prize: โน500

LeetCode is great.
But solving 100 problems alone can get boring.
What if you could challenge a friend, code together, and make DSA practice competitive?
That's why I built CodeHive.
Looking for developers willing to try it ๐

@Joshua_WD Thanks, Josh! Appreciate it! ๐
Still working on getting my first active users. I recently organized a coding tournament to bring developers onto the platform.
Definitely learning that getting people to try a product is a whole different challenge from building it ๐
