@ARoseCasey Bravo, Rose! This is so important! And long overdue. And you're spot on about the Alumni and the broader community. That's the sticking point.
Check out ECHOES, a new web-based history project at @CSCCEUCB about the U.S. early care and education system, inequities throughout time, and activism to change ECE. https://t.co/pOXOY6bbSn
Abortion restrictions will exacerbate hardships for teens of color; bisexual teens; teens who live in low-income families; and teens who live in the South, who are at higher risk of unintended pregnancy, according to a new @ChildTrends blog. https://t.co/PajOxBaOT6
Today’s @washingtonpost editorial on the #childcare crisis includes this sad factoid from the Bureau of Labor Statistics: America’s child care professionals make, on average, 59 cents less per hour than its DOG WALKERS. Let that sink in.
@MatthewAKraft I did some work on teacher perceptions and struggles during the opioid epidemic in WV. Was difficult to get it published but showed how ill equipped teachers were to deal with student issues as a consequence of individual and community trauma
Additional coverage of research with @BillGormley25 and @DataDHP about pre-K &high school graduation and college enrollment plus @annad_johnson w/ the findings on pre-K and self-regulation. Lots of antipoverty talk by the feds this week. Let's keep pre-K in the conversation

@weilanch@CSCCEUCB So true. Seems like a steep hill to climb which makes me feel stick. But great studies and data like yours are the way to start the systems change.

What if instead of having to wait for those long term benefit estimates we can estimate from ongoing cost benefit studies that are confirming them? A paper lead by @TimBartik makes those estimates and arguments with Tulsa Pre-K. Link in comments
When evaluating income support programs, @HilaryHoynes, @LlerasMuney, and Anna Aizer argue in a new paper that economists and policymakers alike have paid too much attention to costs in the short term—and not enough to the benefits over the long run.
