Slovakia has sued Belgium before the ECtHR concerning the death of a Slovak national following his arrest and restraint by Belgian police at Brussels Airport. This brings the number of currently pending inter-state cases to 15, most of which concern situations of conflict.

#excitingtimes 😉 - I am running for the coordinating commiittee of the #ESIL interest group on international courts and tribunals. If you are a member, I would be really happy to receive your support! #intlaw
@Paging_Dr_Paige In my course on Procedure in PIL at @univienna we discuss the composition of int’l courts & tribunals and its impact on decision-making using the ICJ’s South West Africa judgments together with @VictorKattan’s great article on decolonization at the ICJ (https://t.co/LUyarm1nj3).
Rest in peace Thomas Buergenthal, a pioneer of international law and gem of a human, whose legacy will live on in the many people he has inspired, including generations of GW law students.
Our community mourns the loss of the Honorable Thomas Buergenthal. He will be remembered not only as one of the youngest survivors of the Holocaust, an accomplished author, and professor but also for his impact on international human rights and GW Law. https://t.co/QPapNt1OAa
Great analysis by @HectCandray and @cla_bhrrc’s Mahsa Zorob on the IACtHR’s recent judgment on business and human rights standards that should have been respected as relates to the dangerous working conditions of the Miskito divers. #bizhumanrights https://t.co/i1UDfxfqj8

Hilary Charlesworth is the new incoming judge of the ICJ with an absolute majority of votes in the UNGA and the UNSC. Not only is this historic being the 5th women judge at the ICJ (ever) it also reflects Hilary's intellectual prowess, her wisdom.... (1/2) #ICJ
Excited to move on to a new opportunity in the field, but glad to stay connected to the Department & our students by continuing to teach my course on Procedure in PIL (students, do sign up if you’re interested in how public int'l law litigation works: https://t.co/Ys9iswzmxM)! 3/
My time at the Department of International Law of @univienna has come to an end! It was an immense pleasure to be part of the brilliant "Team Reinisch" and the wonderful Department as a whole...1/
I thank Prof. Reinisch for the opportunity & support throughout the years & my amazing colleagues for their friendship. These 3 years of researching, teaching & publishing on int'l law have not only brought pure PIL joy, but wonderful encounters with mentors, peers &students...2/
