1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.
Hundreds of kids are still detained. We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

My exchange with Nathan Wade tonight on the timeline of his romantic relationship with District Attorney Fani Willis — including an interruption from a member of his team as he was answering when it began and when it ended.
Really enjoyed working on this story with the wonderful @SaraMurray and photographer, Gregg Canes. We barely noticed it was 104 degrees 🫠

Just spotted power walking through the Fulton courthouse lobby: Gabe Sterling of the Secretary of State’s office (he’s on the left). He wouldn’t answer any of my qs but it wouldn’t be surprising if he’s testifying before the grand jury
Important to recall that the investigation phase of this case is over—the special grand jury did that work.
Now DA Willis will present a tailored version of her case to a regular grand jury as she seeks indictments. It’s basically just a highlight reel of the evidence.
Folks familiar w/ federal practice may be a bit bewildered by the idea that a grand jury could hear from multiple witnesses on Tuesday and return indictments the same day.
But that’s not unusual in complex cases in GA state court. Indeed, it’s what we expect will happen on Tues.
Exclusive: Georgia prosecutors have messages directly connecting Trump's legal team to the 2021 voting system breach in Coffee County, sources say. https://t.co/jHv8T5uptV

An entire small-town police department in Kansas raided a newspaper's offices and its reporters' homes because the paper got a tip about a well-connected person's DUI

It is anyone's guess exactly how the DA manages time, but we should not expect a radical departure from that timeline. Willis told grand jurors as much when they were sworn in and we should presume the timing has been planned out in detail to get out jurors and staff out ASAP.
