@froglet80 I declined to euthanise my cat. I have guilt for her suffering but also belief in my commitment to her life. We euthanise pets because we are conditioned to believe it’s right, arrogantly thinking we know what is best for them. There is real risk transferring that to people.

@GeoffPolHist Sorry but I see it the other way. The able bodied people who no longer mask or test for covid because they can’t curtail their ‘freedom’ to save lives (including doctors/lawyers) are the same people we are supposed to believe when they say they will safeguard all life equally.

@pollyrowena I am sorry for your loss. I keep seeing this comparison made. I didn’t put my cat to sleep and have had to live with the guilt of my decision but it hasn’t made me any more in favour of this bill, quite the opposite.

Apparently the disabled don’t need to worry about the assisted dying bill because we can trust the abled bodied to protect us.

I’d find it easier to accept if these people were wearing masks as 100s of vulnerable people are dying each week from a preventable infection.

The European Commission has today AUTHORISED the updated JN.1 formulation of the NOVAVAX Covid vaccination for use in the EU 🇪🇺

It’s also been authorised by the FDA (US) 🇺🇸

Now we’re just waiting on the MHRA for Novavax JN.1 authorisation for the UK 🇬🇧

@_CatintheHat Just heard from private pharmacy in Glasgow that Novavax JN.1 won't be available in UK until next year, with no actual expected date. What's going on @MHRAgovuk? Folk who can't have MRNA - many of whom are high risk - are being left behind. + why am I finding out from a pharmacy?

It still haunts me that in the beginning of the pandemic, accommodations disabled people had been fighting for for decades was put in place, only for it all to be taken away two years later. Companies and doctor’s offices only included us when it suited able bodied people.
