She/Her
The city seen from the Queensboro Bridge is always the city seen for the first time, in its wild promise of all the mystery and the beauty of the world
Just a friendly reminder that libraries are free.
Not “free trial” free.
Not “free with ads” free.
Not “free if you give us all of your data” free.
But free free.
Young people are always told what not to do. But what should you do?
Did you know that most public libraries have a Nintendo Switch to use? That parks show free movies at night? That there's a map of pickup basketball games?
https://t.co/Nb8rOAGO4T is a map of free and affordable things to do this summer that we made just for you.
Because public programs mean nothing if you don't know how to access them.
This is why I say they are desperate for you to forget that you're capable of writing for yourself. They are going to sow doubt about the achievements of anyone who threatens them. They want you to believe it's impossible to write an essay.
I have heard people claim that the reaction people are having against AI is the same reaction people had when the internet started to be introduced. And as someone who was there at the time, I can tell you NO IT FUCKING WASN'T.
@fvrenziezz@joshoconnr4real Well, you see, the whole point of a “joke” is that it is funny, so you can understand the confusion at your clearly not funny comment, right? I believe it fits under the Schrodinger’s Asshole rule of the internet?
@QueenMab87 I’m 46, and Cary Grant in Arsenic & Old Lace and Robert Mitchum in A Holiday Affair were two of my earliest and most enduring crushes 😂
@PippaBertacco@aakashgupta Thank you! I can literally hear the “beats” of it as I’m reading and I’m like, JFC please tell me other people know what’s happening here!
Since the Daily Mail insists on giving me a global platform, let’s use it to highlight the abuse and racism coming from William and Kate’s fan base …
#StopTheAbuse#SayNoToRacism
why is there actually, legitimately, discourse around reading speed right now “8 hours to read a book is slow” “you should be able to read a book in 3-5 hours”
bro we are in a literacy CRISIS, i do not care how fast or slow you read a book, just pick one up and read it
I never want to hear another word about how “AI is the future,” about how “you need to get onboard,” about how AI skeptics are brainless Luddites. No one wants this tech, it serves no useful purpose, it has made the world worse in every way. The sooner we move on, the better.
Under a new state law, starting tomorrow, stores in our state are required to allow you to pay in cash.
Businesses can't deny access to necessities by refusing to take cash or charging more for paying in cash.
You have a right to service no matter how you pay.
@notcapnamerica The thought alone might break me…
That they will never understand how anyone who was “there” 100% heard his voice when they read that first sentence.
