I BEGIN MY 10th DAY OF #CLIMATEFAST 11,500 ft altitude
Temperature this morning was -15 °C. Some 110 people and I slept in the open in solidarity with our glaciers and fragile nature in high Himalayas and 2000 people are on fast during the day.
Democracy has a big drawback. Politicians only think of next 5 years and sell off ecosensitive zones for the profit of few rich industrialists. The local people are left face the consequences for generations. Then when human induced disasters strike it costs more than those profits but this time it's paid from tax payers money. This story has been repeated all over Himalayas from Himachal to Uttranchal to Sikkim. This could at best be called cleverness, not even intelligence.
We in Ladakh believe we need wisdom not cleverness.

I have started preparing for my walk against drugs in Punjab starting from 10th December. The walk is called ‘People’s Walk Against Drugs’ ‘ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਜਨ-ਯਾਤਰਾ !’ Since I do not have any NGO or a cadre , I would request as much participation and support from the citizens of Punjab and the schedule/route (to begin from New Chandigarh) will be announced soon. Some of the things that people can help contribute-
1) Make available an ambulance.
2)Volunteers to manage traffic for safety.
3)Water bottles/ Electral tetra packs
4) Food packs - On the go kind of food.
5) Some funding for accommodation for volunteers etc.
6) An Innova with a responsible driver to carry basic necessities and for other support.
7) Approx 50 Printed Sweat shirts / tracks.
8 ) Banners / Pamphlets with some appropriate messages .
9) Counsellors who can take up cases should someone seek assistance .
10) Some funds for miscellaneous/unknown expenses. My walk is non-political and aims at strengthening all stakeholders who are working towards eradication of this menace.

केवल महिला ही नहीं कोई भी यात्री @IRCTCofficial में सुरक्षित नहीं है। बड़ी हैरानी की बात है, रात को 1 बजे ट्रेन में कुछ बदमाश खुलेआम नशे का सेवन कर, गंदी गालियों से यात्रियों को परेशान कर रहे है, मैंने complain करने की कोशिश करी तो पाया की पूरी ट्रेन में एक भी आरपीएफ़ / जेआरपीएफ तैनात नहीं है। मेरे टीटी द्वारा complain करने पर 1 घंटे बाद पुलिस आती है । इसी बीच बदमाश मुझे धमकियाँ दे रहे होते है। वो तो सहायक passengers की मदद से में पूरे मामले में पुलिस के आने तक डटी रही । पर यदि इस 1 घंटे के दौरान कोई दुर्घटना घट जाती तो उसका ज़िम्मेदार कौन होता ? #shame @RPFCR #railwayministry #failure
