Interview with the Vampire on @AMC_TV is such an incredible show I’m actually upset I heard zero buzz about it on social media. Binged both seasons this weekend. And you’re telling me it’s been out for FOUR YEARS and completely flew under the radar??

@Wiixxy_y Agreed! Her film is not about race, class, and generational trauma. Her vision is a massive departure from the original text, but I think claiming that her choices root from misunderstanding rather than intention are sexist and unwarranted.
For real. There are valid criticisms of Wuthering Heights 2026 but all the claims that Emerald Fennell "hasn't read the book" or simply "doesn't understand it" are wildly misogynistic and I don't think would be so easily slung at a male director.
emerald fennell. chloé zhao. celine song.
the amount of online vitriol these women get for directing notable, profitable movies is insane. meanwhile their male counterparts make mediocre films without any uproar. please make it make sense
The man who sleeps nine hours and eats clean and never drinks and exercises daily is the deadest man i know btw. his bloodwork is immaculate and he has nothing to say. the body is a temple and no God showed up. meanwhile the ones who actually see things are running on four hours and cigarettes and something chewing at them from inside that wont let them become vegetables. consciousness is expensive it costs health. you pay with the body. the flame eats the candle thats the deal
The Grammys, Winter Olympics, and Super Bowl proceeding as if everything is normal after the revelations in the Epstein Files feels oh so Hunger Games. Panem et circenses!

I watched and enjoyed both. There was some merit to them, and some weirdness to both. But masterpieces they were not! And certainly not the best film of their year. Particularly when so many masterpieces did come out this year - I’m looking at you, Frankenstein and Hamnet.
Every year there is a movie that critics and every award show try to convince me is A Great Film. A masterpiece, even. Last year, it was Anora. This year, it’s One Battle After Another.
