🟥 Europe Watch | Brussels Where are Anas & Tarek? @AnasHabib98@Tarekkhabib
▪️ Two Egyptian-Dutch activists, Anas Habib and Tarek Habib, were detained in Brussels on 23 October 2025 during egypt’s president al-Sisi’s visit.
▪️ Despite loud claims in Egyptian state media about “terrorism” and “threats,” Belgian authorities did not treat this as a federal terrorism case the file was referred to immigration administration rather than the national security prosecutor.
▪️ There is no public evidence of formal criminal charges, yet the men remain separated from their families wives and small children who deserve to know where their husbands are and whether they are free.
▪️ This is unacceptable. If there is no criminal basis for detention, they must be released immediately and reunited with their families. If there are legal grounds, Belgian authorities must state them clearly and transparently.
▪️ We demand an immediate, public clarification: what is the legal basis, where are they held, and do they have access to counsel and family contact?

Canada’s first ever “Ramadan Mubarak” sign was installed this morning outside of City Hall in Toronto!
The installation of this sign was an initiative led by Muslim high school students in Toronto. To learn more about their work listen here: https://t.co/Sjx4lq3dni
The installation will be in place throughout the month of Ramadan. Community members and ally’s are encouraged to visit at anytime throughout the month.
We note that Canada’s voted “yes” on a UN Vote today calling for a permanent ceasefire and on settlements.
We and many others have been urging the government to speak clearly and forcefully in standing up for human rights.
Canada did the right thing by changing its vote today, and it represents an important step. Canada must continue by taking other important measures, including imposing sanctions on the extremist Netanyahu cabinet, as well as officially recognizing the State of Palestine.
Alongside their continued call for a permanent ceasefire, these actions are necessary to stand for justice and to call for peace.
In a press conference today Jagmeet Singh defended an NDP candidate who used a Palestinian flag in his official campaign material and said Canada has failed to do everything it can to stop the genocide in Gaza
Minister Joly put out a clear message in stating that Canada’s policy on a weapons ban to Israel remains in place.
She suggested point blank that the government of Canada was not in favour of any loopholes being used in relation to the recent proposed sale of explosives by General Dynamics.
She further specifically stated, “Meanwhile, as for the questions regarding General Dynamics, our policy is clear. We will not have any arms or parts of arms be sent to Gaza. Period. How they’re being sent or where they’re being sent is irrelevant”.
This is a positive step for the Minister to take in sending a strong signal that the one-way weapons export ban remains strong and without loophole.
We must continue to work towards further policy to stand for peace and for a better world for all to live in.
@Israel The fact that a "country"'s official account is commenting on an individual activist abroad shows both the impact of that activism and the fragility of the "country"
@_MarkSutcliffe How about the Canadian Palestinians who feel deeply hurt by Israel killing their families ??
Why do these 3 days old twins and their postpartum mother get to be killed by Israel ?!! Can you reply ??
