Refreshing to hear a balanced lecture about the use of HRT after breast cancer by @BreastDocUK Frustrating that evidence remains so suboptimal & unlikely to change anytime soon #bms#bmsconference2023
@Liz_ORiordan NOT because of ‘influencers’ (the ones you mention @MichaelBaum11@katietaylorbaum have made invaluable contributions to women’s health). Post pandemic admin and health factors, cramped units, lack of privacy is the issue. Women need balanced info
Fantastic to see Sleep Disordered Breathing talked about at #EMAS2023. Thank you @cshufeltMD for acknowledging this in the context of ‘meno-cardiology’
New research explains why women suffer more from Alzheimer's disease than men. It's linked to oestrogen depletion during menopause. Another argument in support of HRT. https://t.co/w6vcGH2zEp
This is factually inaccurate and in today’s Mail on Sunday @DMAILhealth from @Dr_Ellie Cannon. Please correct this asap Dr Cannon - any medical textbook will have the correct information. This is gaslighting of the worst sort. And please retweet 🔥https://t.co/C4RfLQ7riw
@drhannahshort You may be adding a very short term tiny burden eg prescription advice. But medium and long term you almost certainly are going to vastly reduce the NHS consultations and treatment for multiple chronic disease that those patients go on to need
So many incredible things shared, learnt and appreciated @NHMenoSociety @WIMIN_UK conference.
Here are the highlights.
Thank you to everyone who organised it, came to it and participated.
I feel proud to have been a small part of it.

Working in medicine can be tough. Additional challenges for women in those roles. Great opening session at Creating an Environment for Women to Thrive in Medicine Conference - the importance of socialising for our health. @WIMIN_UK @NHMenoSociety @drlouisenewson#WomenInMedicine
@Liz_ORiordan@shazm0@FourteenFish The long term follow up of the WHI study, the Cochrane review (Boardman et al), 2016 and the Finnish study (Mikkola et al)
This, exactly this, well said Dr Ball - maybe the patient wanted not only to reduce unpleasant symptoms but reduce the risks of the main life limiting pathologies that hasten death ?
