Nice extension of the temporal recalibration approach to competing risks settings, allowing more up-to-date estimates of cumulative incidence functions. Useful when developing prognostic models, particularly for longer-term risks. Led by @sarahbooth321, thanks to all co-authors.

@ICRharry I’m not too sure but potentially it might also depend on the outcome of interest. For example, cancer mortality may remain the same but if the recruitment takes place over a very long time period there might still be slight reductions in the other cause mortality over time

@ICRharry Thanks Harry, I also enjoyed your presentation! I’ve been applying this to registry data so there are often changes in treatments and policies over time which contribute to the calibration drift. Like you said, this doesn’t happen in trials so I think it would be less of an issue
