This is why the French police don't stop the boats and it should make your blood boil.
Chris Philp asked one of them, on camera, why they let the migrants into the water. The officer's answer, flat and unbothered. “Our ORDERS are to let them go.”
Not that they CAN'T. That they've been TOLD not to. From the top and his justification? Their job is to PROTECT them. Protect the migrants. All the way to Britain.
Here's the verified bit underneath it. French police are barred from stopping a boat once it's in the water. A complaint about officers puncturing a dinghy led to a ruling, so now they stand back while the boats sail on. The smugglers simply wade out, launch, and the police film it on their phones. Some were even pictured ESCORTING them off.
We pay France up to £650 MILLION for exactly this.
Now the part that ends the argument. That money isn't even tied to results. Asked if there were ANY targets for stopping boats, Downing Street's own spokesman said, quote, “no, there is not.”
No targets. No duty to stop a single crossing. Their stop rate sits around 40%, and we've begged them to lift it for years and the deal doesn't even let us send anyone BACK. After Brexit we left the Dublin rules that once let us return them to the EU, and never replaced them. Money out. No returns in.
So what are we buying? Not a border. A DIRECT DEBIT. Hundreds of millions a year, for a force ordered to stand back, film it, and wave the boats through and every crossing lands on us. £5.77 MILLION a day on hotels. £8 BILLION a year. 95% of refused claims never removed.
We didn't lose control of the border.
We're paying another country half a billion to hold it open. And their own police just said so, to our faces.
Credit to Chris Philp for getting them to admit it.
Prince Harry lecturing England on ‘mindset’ after they lose a World Cup semi? Mate, sit down.
The bloke who quit his country, his family, and every duty he ever had is now an expert on mental toughness? The guy who’s failed at everything he’s touched since ditching the Firm— Invictus PR stunts, Netflix deals that bombed, Spotify walkouts, polo ponies and Montecito mansions—is telling our lads they didn’t believe hard enough?
You had zero interest in the national team until it suited your comeback tour. No boots on the ground, no skin in the game, just a pint in hand on Corden’s couch, slagging off players who actually showed up, trained, bled, and got within touching distance of the final. Those lads carried a nation’s hopes on their backs while you carry… what, exactly? Spare parts from the royal exit scam?
England doesn’t need armchair sermons from a California exile chasing relevance. The players gave everything. You gave up.
Stay in your lane, Harry. It’s called ‘irrelevant.’
Tom Sykes:
“Meghan gets what Meghan wants or nobody gets anything”
"Harry's voice was “breaking” on receiving the news in his Montecito mansion, I can reveal, and he then began raging, as usual."
