@BRoseMDMPH@olsonplanner I received the same letter and initially panicked, but then I read the fine print and my interest rate is listed as 0% during the forebearance.
In honor of my mom who passed away from pancreatic cancer 8 days ago, my sister and I have a fundraiser for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network that ends today at 11:59 ET.

Doctors order CTs for every minor head bump, not because it's good medicine, but because it’s legally safe.
Missing a trivial brain bleed? Career-ending.
But irradiating 20 people to find one? No lawsuit. No friction. No second thought.
Yet this new @UCSF study shows that medical radiation causes up to 5% of all U.S. cancers.
Overtesting isn’t benign. It's just delayed harm that no one tracks back to us.
This is exactly what @ThomasSowell meant by unseen trade-offs. We protect ourselves from rare, immediate harms by inflicting diffuse, long-term ones. The incentives are perfectly misaligned.
Real policy fix?
For non-emergencies, adding cost friction isn't a bad thing. "Just taking a look" isn't harmless. It also shouldn't be "free."
We also need to enact common-sense med mal reform that distinguishes rare misses from negligence.
Build a culture of risk literacy, not just risk aversion.

@aribindi An alternative take would be to advocate for changing reimbursement for EM to reflect the fact that we are available 24/7. There is value in our 24/7 availability that is not reflected in reimbursement measures. I do not mind working nights when it feels fairly compensated.
@DreamBiggerLLC@olsonplanner I’m so confused by this. My recertification has been pushed so many times that it’s been hard to keep track of when I really do need to recertify.
@olsonplanner I am assuming I’m on the administrative forbearance they put everyone on, but I never received any emails to that effect. Am just going by what I’m reading in the news.
@olsonplanner Is it possible that people currently on SAVE would not be able to continue our plans? There’s no way I can afford the standard repayment on my fellowship salary and am worried about how I’d manage.
I cannot believe graduation is already here - it is surreal! I grateful to have trained at @UChicagoEM, and I am going to genuinely miss everyone. 🩷💕
We did it! 🎉🎉🎉
