One day, just one day, I would like to see pregnant physicians brag abt how their institution made accommodations for the antepartum period, instead of all the “I worked until I was literally in labor” superwoman posts
My heart dies a little every time one of my colleagues says: I’m “just” a nurse
You are not “just” a nurse
Bedside nurses are the backbone of clinical care
We all need you #Nurse#EmergencyCare
The most difficult part of being an intern was experiencing a heightened awareness of the fragility and preciousness of life and at the same time having to give up so much of my own to the hospital.
The best thing institutions can do to reduce burnout is give people time
No one wants to give time
Burnout will continue until this lesson is learned
The ironic part is that physicians who have recharge time are likely net more productive than those without who work more hours
Love getting #ASCO material in the mail - but this headline was tough to face. A reminder to be mindful of global disparities in healthcare, do what you can to help, and appreciate your #IMG colleagues exhibiting resilience despite often having a lot going on back home #Match2022
I cried for the 1st time in 20yrs yesterday. I cried hard for 5hrs straight. I am not embarrassed & happy that it happened. In a society where we are expected to be strong all the time I am here to tell you...there is no weakness in being open about mental health

Environmental Service workers clean every Covid room in our hospital. They are also often forgotten when we talk about essential workers. We ask them to go and clean rooms filled with pathogens and yet most people don’t acknowledge their presence. This tweet is for them.
MY RECOMMENDATION TO INCOMING INTERNS: Before intern year I made a survival bag for my backpack so that I was prepared for some of intern year’s difficulties. Do it. It has proven to be SO USEFUL. Here are my recommendations to make your own little bag:
