These kids shouldn’t have to bear the brunt of the Lebanese economic collapse, which has prevented access to meds that have made the cure rate for leukemia extremely high. W/o these meds, these kids can’t survive. If you can, consider donating using the link in bio @CCCLebanon
"And what do I do now?"
We did everything we can to provide Karim with the medication.
What could we have said to a mom waiting for us to provide her son with meds.
How do we say it's out of stock?

@GovMLG One of the worst states for legal protection for physicians. I would actively encourage future doctors to stay far away from New Mexico.
There’s been some recent progress to fix this but it’s not nearly enough.
A small randomized trial of generative #AI for diagnosis again (as seen in a few previous studies) shows higher performance for #AI than physicians + AI. May indicate that physicians need to be trained on how to incorporate AI.

Even though we might deny it, I think nearly all of us operate with the idea that we will live a complete life - seeing our kids grow & marry, become grandparents, grow old. Or at least we think our death will be meaningful & foreseen, with ample time for closure & goodbyes.
Once my patient as he was dying told me something like this: “What was I so afraid of? All the people that I lived for are dead now too.”
This is a morbid thought, harsh, & very real.
I catch their dying dreams as they sail off into the unreturned. I am a last witness.
This case reveals what many of us suspected but haven't seen confirmed in so many words: the public health imperative of controlling a pandemic by making employers liable for some of that control is, and always must be, secondary to capitalist profit

“When I first met him as co-interns on a complex care rotation, all I could think was, ‘Wow, I want to be like him one day.’”

Someone on Reddit asked, “if you’re injured as a result of a mass shooting, are you responsible for that medical bill?” And I find that a uniquely American question.
Well said. And to those of us fortunate enough to have succeeded, don’t forget the stroke(s) of luck that got us here. Be that stroke of luck for someone else if you can.
This is the second time I've gone through the Match process as an IMG and I have thankfully matched into a fellowship. Below are some of the things I've reflected on and that have stood out as important from my experience in this process. I hope this is helpful. (1/7)
