@TTimeTatum Hey! I’m med-peds too and have been thinking the same thing!! 90% of my interviews have been absolutely fantastic - I wish I could go to multiple!
ITS COMBINED MEDICINE & PEDIATRICS BUT ITS 4 YEARS INSTEAD OF 6 (3 FOR MEDICINE & 3 FOR PEDS). ITS LIKE FAMILY MEDICINE BUT WITHOUT OB BUT ALSO DIFFERENT. MORE THAN 75% OF GRADUATES END UP CARING FOR BOTH KIDS & ADULTS BUT YOU CAN DO ANY SUBSPECIALTY & BRING A SPECIAL PERSPECTIVE
Hello #MedTwitter, my name is Sarah and I am an M4 from WVU applying #medpeds for #Match2023. I am interested in #MedEd, critical care, and hospitalist medicine. I am excited to join this community and wish everyone the best of luck!
@emily_fri Hi Dr. Fridenmaker, I am an upcoming 4th year medical student at CAMC! I am applying med-peds and am also interested in critical care so I will be rotating through the MICU this year - maybe I’ll see you! Best of luck :)
@NeuroSpiceLatte This is EXACTLY the experience everyone has at my school, too! Only this rotation and it’s extremely disappointing and frustrating. I was super interested & only wanted to learn and they just don’t care.
@Lionhearted_ben I literally feel the EXACT same way! Wish I could practice a little bit of everything. Deciding which to pick is so much harder than I was expecting.
A closing thought for 2021:
I don’t think more science is what ends the pandemic if selfishness, indifference, & greed persist.
Scientists can’t fix that.
We don’t need so much a science eureka but rather a cultural transformation.
We are all we got.
Virtue in 2022.
“Rat out your neighbors’ personal medical decisions and the state will reward you with $10,000” sounds a hell of a lot more Soviet than most of the things Republicans these days denounce as “communism."
