The team at 5 News would like to pay tribute to one of our own legends.

One of our longest-serving camera operators, Mark Vinall, has sadly died at home after a long illness.

Many of the excellent pictures you have seen on this programme over the past 20 years were filmed by Mark. He was brilliant at his job and a delight to work with.

Mark loved 5 News and we loved him. We will miss him dearly.

The Princess of Wales has announced she has cancer.

It was found after she underwent tests following the abdominal surgery she had in January.

Kate is now undergoing preventative chemotherapy and says the family needs “time, space and privacy” while she completes her treatment.
