Our speaker today at South Yuba County Sunrise Rotary was Guss Tolley, who introduced our club members to groundwater in California.
Most people involved in #cawater would agree this slide from Guss's presentation is accurate for most residents in our state.
If he:
-Changes his entire look for you
-Travels 1,900 miles upstream to chase you
-Procreates and dies
-Replenishes an entire ecosystem with his carcass
He's not your valentine, he's a Chinook salmon
@Sorenenelson "What is your ideal water future?" or "If you could redesign our water systems, what would that look like?" Something that gives you a sense of what they're working towards and why they want to be involved.
Cool to see a few Oakland buildings on the "accidental Wes Anderson" reddit. Good reminder that we've got some incredible architecture downtown https://t.co/XK0Iv6uUbr
10 years ago I started a water consulting firm committed to demand side management. The goal from the beginning was to be small, relevant, and impactful. From Colorado to NYC, to California to the US Supreme Court, it has been an amazing decade.

LATEST DROUGHT MONITOR
Little change to the drought monitor today. Here's their summary. "Despite several weeks of above average rainfall...many of the larger reservoirs still remain below the historical average...too early to tell if the wet weather is enough to end the drought"
Despite this year's flooding, up until today, last year's northern California precipitation exceeded this year's precipitation. Last year became a drought year, so anything can happen. We can have drought and flood in the same year.
Join me, Joe Fazio, @SarahMusiker, and Karen Guz as we present the @flumewater Household Water Index. We will review 2022 indoor and outdoor residential water use from our nationwide network of sensors.
Thurs. Feb.2 - 10 AM PT. Free registration.

10 Days of rain is really having me push the limits on how many times I can have soup before getting sick of it.
So far I've made: Wonton soup, Tuscan sausage and kale, Butternut squash, Chickpea With Coconut and Turmeric, and tonight we're having Tomato with grilled cheese
As we prepare for the incoming weather lets take a moment to pause and look at the visible imagery and marvel at what Mother Nature is sending our way.
