Really humbled to chair the afternoon session of @BactiVac and Royal Society’s “vaccines and antimicrobial resistance meeting” where we had interesting talks from key players including policy makers, vaccine manufacturers, scientists, and vaccine developers…Excellent talks
Celebrating the launch of Vanguard consortium. Kilifi MOH, KWTRP community resource persons and Vanguard future leaders representing! We will focus on biological, social, and systems determinants of vaccine efficacy in African populations @KEMRI_Wellcome@MRC_Uganda@LSHTM
Nine years ago, together we began to write a new chapter in world history, without even realising it.
We are still writing it.
Maidan is about dignity, consolidation and Victory.
It was an incredible one week of genetic epidemiology and causal inference training hosted by @Sarah_AtkinsonS and facilitated by a brilliant team of instructors from @mrc_ieu. Lots of potential for collaboration that could lead to more #GWAS from continental Africa. #GEfAS
Amazing to see where all of our participants are from in the world at the Causal Inference in Epidemiology using Mendelian randomization course in Kilifi!
The first course of its kind and hopefully the first of many!

Only a week ago Kherson was still occupied.
Today, the President of Ukraine @ZelenskyyUa came to visit the city.
This is what liberation looks like.
This is what courage looks like.
President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the recently liberated Kherson on Nov. 14.
"Kherson is Ukraine," he said in a post on Telegram as he shared photos from his trip.

It's been an insightful day today at the MR conference. Lots of knowledge gained around GWAS and causal inference in epidemiological studies. @emmylooroll, thank you for being crystal clear about confounders and mediators. #GEfAS
Absolutely delighted to be hosting the amazing @mrc_ieu team for our 'Capacity building in genomic epidemiology/Mendelian Randomization for African scientists conference' #GEfAS#MenRan@mrc_ieu@KEMRI_Wellcome@IDeAL_KEMRI_WT An exciting first day of learning!
It’s the start to an exciting week of Genomic epidemiology for African Scientists #GEfAS#training at the Kilifi coast. The 1st Mendelian randomization #MenRan conference in Africa.
The conference seeks to make use of the growing genetic data from the African continent to help better understand complex diseases and improve public health outcomes in Africa, making the conference and the capacity building a unique and timely effort.
