Extremely successful trip to Belize! We were able to significantly expand the countries ability to test for COVID-19.

We will now call @Sarah_M_Gunter MacGyver. She got one PCR machine back from dead & converted the other one from 96 wells to 384 (platform was ☠️). Now Belize has 5X capacity for COVID PCRs! + 7 bags of supplies that will allow for automated extractions. @BCM_TropMed #gamechanger

We shipped critical clinical specimens on dry ice from Belize Sept 29 w/ @Worldcourier on @Amerijet. It’s been in Miami for >a month. @Amerijet apparently had paperwork wrong for cargo import. Calls have been of no help. Hoping someone finally helps us for our patients’ sakes.
