“The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.”
This truth also applies to marriage. Marriage as instituted by God is for couples to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever.
A godly marriage is one where husband and wife are “naked and unashamed” that is, free to be known, accepted, and at rest with one another. Sin, not poverty, personality differences, or in-laws, is the true enemy of a healthy marriage. Just as sin brought disorder into the Garden of Eden, it also brings shame and disorder into marriage.
Our marriages as christians should therefore glorify God by pointing others to the beauty of God and by reflecting His grace and love.
Are you pursuing a relationship or marriage that glorifies God and helps you both enjoy Him? What stood out to you from the sermon? Share in the comments.
Unpopular opinion but blaming a crime on postpartum psychosis is like a man blaming his testosterone for rape. Hormones aren't an excuse for horrific acts. The victims are 3 innocent babies. Enough of this crap.
What does Scripture say to a culture increasingly questioning marriage, family, and even whether having children is a good thing?
At Family Affairs 2026, we’ll be returning to God’s Word to think carefully about His design for singleness, marriage, children, parenting, and the family.
Join us from August 21–25 as we consider how Christians should live faithfully in a culture with very different ideas about the purpose of family.
