@bphillipsonMP@AdaLovelaceSch I live in Ealing where Ada Lovelace School is. Don't think I'd describe it as a "stuck school"! It's only a few years old, not easy to get into, and housing in the area is £££. Ofsted Outstanding and very high GCSE scores. https://t.co/Zb6G61dc3t
And now, >48h later, we at least have 1 bag, but the other is still missing. @British_Airways thanks for nothing - literally. Zero response here, no updates on the portal. What a mess.
@British_Airways flew BA192 DFW-LHR departing 5 Jan. Delayed 2h to remove bags from passengers not on the flight, yet bags of actual passengers left behind, including 2 of mine. >24h later, no updates on the portal and no response to messages on X or FB, just bots. Please help!
@British_Airways The delayed baggage portal only says "Searching for your baggage". There are only 2 places it should be right now: LHR or DFW. This really should not be hard to update! So regretting not having airtags and irritated at the clear incompetence of DFW ground crew.
Thank you @NatureRevCancer for publishing this obituary of Connie Eaves https://t.co/av6jRQNNwo
I had the opportunity to work with Connie on not one, but two, NRC articles on cancer stem cells in the span of a year, so I concur with the statement that she was a prolific writer!
@stuartcantrill@DiseasePrimers This is hilarious, as prior to the decision to launch @DiseasePrimers I had a conversation with James Butcher about the use of the term primer in the US (I believe I was the only American Reviews chief ed at that time). Never in my life have I pronounced it PRIMM-er...
@shouval Glad to hear you are safe and hopefully things calm down soon. Following closely from afar and thinking of all my friends and family in Tel Aviv.
@thriftycars seriously horrible lines in Houston @iah. Consistent line of about 40 people, each waiting for over an hour. Only 2-4 people working at any given time. Only consolation is that it seems to be far worse at most other US airports.
@EalingLibs Is your print book catalogue down? I'm trying to search through my account for print books on the shelves at my local library and all it can come up with for multiple authors/titles is e-books and audio books. It worked fine about 2 weeks ago.
Buying tickets for popular concerts = marathon sport. Lots of prep, training and endurance required and even then you may not cross the finish line... #erastouruk#TaylorSwiftErasTour
Today I learned that Harald zur Hausen recently died. I will always remember the conversation we had when I met him while an editor on @NatureRevCancer. HPV vaccination is one of my favorite cancer research success stories from the past 20 years! https://t.co/yIEaoCULJd
@NetteFenner NO!!! I made it through the queue after many errors, having to re-sign in twice and 2 browser refresh errors but all that was left was £490 hospitality packages...and I just couldn't do it!
@Zwangshesse@HelenBranswell I noticed this too. My kids were born and vaccinated in the UK, where the recommendation is first dose at 1 year and second at 3 years+4 months, so most have it before starting school. https://t.co/p9e9BaL8mZ
@fieldworkat72@HelenBranswell@AnneWHilborn 100% agree children should be vaccinated, but in this instance it may just be that many of those unvaccinated/partially vaccinated kids weren't yet eligible - CDC says "first dose at 12 to 15 months of age, and the second dose at 4 through 6 years of age." https://t.co/vEFtAYtRjW
Just found out about this new book (can't wait to read!) and book event in London on Tues 1 Nov. Can't go in person (thanks Covid), but sharing in case any of my London based science friends are interested! And will probably sign up for the livestream. https://t.co/3BXTKV6fOG
