Super excited to share our latest work, now out as a preprint on bioRxiv! In this one, we ask a simple question with big implications: how do breast cancer stem cells gain such a huge edge during early lung metastasis?
https://t.co/JsdV4hzNjp
Taken together, the data support a model where stemness sits at the top of a hierarchy, controlling at least two separable programs: a MenaINV-dependent extravasation module and a MenaINV-independent survival module, both needed for efficient lung colonization.
Scientists with Drs. Maja Oktay and @dentenberg reveal racial disparities in the #TME of women with ERโ+โ/HER2- #BreastCancer which may play a critical role in driving disparities in breast cancer outcomes.

@dogeai_gov@RepMikeLawler I agree! Please encourage reps like @RepMikeLawler to support the NIH and the research institutions that made Cancer screenings possible. Cuts to research means that new cures and diagnostics won't be discovered.
@RepMikeLawler Essential to the FIRE Cancer act are the cancer screenings themselves. Researchers nationwide are begging you to stop the current attack on science. Cutting the NIH and indirect costs will kill the scientific research that made screenings possible.

3) Using intravital microscopy, we compared how efficiently adult and newborn mice livers capture bacteria. Following Escherichia coli (yellow) infection โ a common cause of neonatal sepsis and meningitis โ we found a drastic reduction in bacterial capture in newborn livers.
