@johnmcdonnellMP All very true, John. But the Cabinet need at the very least to announce that change will now swiftly come, and not just parrot Starmer,
who is utterly tone deaf to what is happening in the country. They need to make a statement tomorrow of understanding, acceptance and renewal.
@KayBurley@AndyBurnhamGM Fab! Remember @labourlewis said he’d give his seat up to give to @AndyBurnhamGM in a peerage swap so he can launch a leadership challenge (which he’d win)? Please explore all options, we need good news and a new PM who brings fresh hope ASAP!
@KayBurley An admission that @Keir_Starmer completely lacks the experience, knowledge or wisdom to be the U.K. Prime Minister. Blatantly bringing in what he considers to be highly respected aid to get him through, but we need new, forward looking, dynamic action from Labour now, not this.

@afneil Even Starmer must be regretting not letting Andy Burnham stand to become an MP, at least he’d have provided a credible and competent alternative.
@ZackPolanski But taking on the monarchy doesn’t help the cause, it only reinforces the idea that the Greens aren’t for the masses. We might hear something today from the King that supports inclusion and environment, speaking over it just deepens division, it’s not progressive.
@ShabanaMahmood Suella Braverman issued similar, ridiculous, divisive, sound bites. Where is your substance? A headline with no content is utterly pointless. Stop thinking of snappy lines and start really considering what actually needs to happen to make a difference. Then publish something.
What utter nonsense that they have to go home to get extraction details! How grossly unfair! The cops just picking them off…with cameras set up to capture them as soon as they set foot, they don’t stand a chance…what’s the point??!! #hunted
@GoodwinMJ Deary me, Matt, what on earth has become of you?! Ranting and even taken to whitening your face, and perhaps blueing up your eyes…oooph! And none of the academic commentary, or evidence, that used to be vaguely interesting.
@KirstieMAllsopp@GerardK07867149 Farms produce food, they are not visitor attractions. Tourists go to Nat Trust and Wildlife Trusts etc which are not impacted upon. Don’t conflate issues. There will be no differences in inheritance for small farms, or farms with an actual value of less the £1m. Listen properly.
This person…
Lifting their hand as they burn alive
What was their name?
What was their crime?
When does this stop?
It is when there is nobody left?
Because there’s a word for that.

@SkyNews@KayBurley Dire reporting this morning @KayBurley. You’ve just had the transport secretary on and asked 2 questions about transport, all the rest focused on Johnson and Grey! The public are MORE interested in what is happening with public transport and new developments! Poor show, Kay.
A short history of British Steel
Labour nationalised steel after the war in 1945
The Conservatives sold it off 1952
Labour renationalised steel again in 1967
By 1987 British steel was profitable and had doubled productivity since 1979
Conservatives privatised it in 1988

@SkyNews Key word in this story is ‘worth’. He didn’t accept any money, he stayed at somebody’s house, at their invitation, which #skynews has calculated might cost £20k if it had been a hotel room - but it wasn’t. Who stays over at friends houses and thinks ‘this would have cost £x’?
1. I’m sorry to return to this question, but I think it hints at everything that's wrong with our media and public conversations.
*When did you last hear a critique of capitalism on the BBC?*
A thread/
Nothing new
No ideas
No serious announcements
Vast amounts of rhetoric
Almost no evidence of political understanding
A smile vastly too smug for comfort
And promises that amount to nothing at all
That was Rachel Reeves today
Dale Vince, "I would welcome a wealth tax.. A rise in capital gains tax.. I've campaigned for both of these things because there are people in our country with more money, broader shoulders, and they pay less as a percent of income than ordinary workers do, that shouldn't be right"
Christian Fraser, "There's a suspicion that a rich people would flee the country if there's a wealth tax"
Dale Vince, "Very few rich people would leave.. And if they did, they're not the kind of people we want here"
"If they're not willing to pay their fair share to live in this country, they should leave"
Well said @DaleVince 👏
