Someone once said, 'On a Kamal movie shoot, everyone’s on their toes, because the entire crew knows this man can do their job better than them.' That line always gives me goosebumps & has to be one of the greatest Aandavar elevations ever.

The toughest thing about appreciating Kamal is figuring out where to even begin. It’s not like he’s a great actor but an average director, he’s literally mastered every space he’s stepped into. You can speak for hours about his acting, direction, dancing, singing, writing or his relentless drive & passion to produce quality cinema through RaajKamal.

കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷം അച്ഛനൊരു സ്ട്രോക്ക് വന്നപ്പോൾ തളർന്നു പോയതാണ്..

കുറച്ചു മാസങ്ങൾ കഴിഞ്ഞു പുതിയ വീടിന്റെ ഗൃഹപ്രവേശം നടത്തി..

ഇനിയുള്ളത് കേരളത്തിൽ 30 കഴിഞ്ഞ ഏതൊരുത്തനെയും സമൂഹം തള്ളിവിടുന്ന ഒരു പ്രതിഭാസത്തിലേക്കാണ് - വിവാഹം!!

1994. Or was it '93, am not too sure.

That night saw a sudden and totally unexpected downpour. We, four or five guys just out of college were hanging out and having our evening quota of cigarettes by the side of main road here in our hometown at Pala. It was getting 9, and so many people including ladies and kids were literally stranded in roadside shelters.

Suddenly from nowhere a lean looking teenager ventured into the rain. A handicap, limping, and in torn clothes. What made all the guys standing there surprised was the way he was singing out a song loudly. A Tamil song that stared with a long 'Ezhai jaathi....' In a minute or so, he got disappeared into darkness.

Cut to 2000. We were having our first car. While driving it home after taking delivery from Pondicherry, me and another person stopped at a small yet good looking tea shop somewhere near Theni. It was around 2 at night then, yet the place had good number of guys having tea and snacks. We also had ours and while sitting there, could notice at least 50 pics and posters of Vijayakanth plastered all over the walls. It struck me like a bullet when i saw the shop owner serving tea. A young man in his early twenties. Handicap, and limping. Could it be that same teenager?

Just before leaving and paying cash at the counter, i asked him about a boy who sang Ezhai jaathi in a rainy night five six years back, at a place called Pala.

He cried. Didn't allow us to leave without taking a packet full of snacks. And refused to take cash from us that night.
