MEDIA STATEMENT | Lex Libertas Calls on Ramaphosa to Condemn Farm Attacks and Engage Civil Society on Rural Safety
PRETORIA – Lex Libertas has called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to publicly condemn the brutal attack on North West farmer Donovan Marx and to engage civil society organisations on a more decentralised approach to combating farm attacks.
Marx was shot, stabbed and severely mutilated during an attack on his farm between Potchefstroom and Ventersdorp on 28 October 2026.
In the letter, Lex Libertas points out that President Ramaphosa has previously condemned particularly brutal incidents of violent crime, including the recent killings of women in Ekurhuleni, and calls on him to respond similarly to the attack on Marx.
‘The President has rightly spoken out against other incidents of brutal violence. We believe the victims of farm attacks deserve the same recognition and commitment to justice,’ said Dr Ernst Roets, Executive Director of Lex Libertas.
The organisation further calls on the President to facilitate engagement between government and civil society organisations on practical measures to improve rural safety.
Lex Libertas argues that the particular challenges associated with farm attacks, including the isolation of rural communities and delays in emergency response, require greater decentralisation and cooperation between the police, agricultural organisations and local communities.
‘It is not enough to declare farm attacks a priority crime. A declaration to that effect would be nothing more than an administrative formality. What matters is whether practical measures are taken to prevent these attacks and bring perpetrators to justice,’ Roets said.
‘Local communities have knowledge, resources and capabilities that should be incorporated into efforts to combat farm attacks. We believe there is considerable scope for a more decentralised approach to rural safety.’
The organisation has offered to engage with the Presidency and relevant government departments on practical solutions.
US Ambassador Leo Brent Bozell III says that, as he understands it, Elon Musk offered to put Starlink free in 500 South African schools and pay for it in perpetuity. He says the government instead asked for 30% of the company, and calls that demand preposterous. Full episode available on our YouTube channel.

This confirms the inherent anti-white racism of the South African government. No land belonging to the government may be leased to white farmers. That is now official government policy. It is blatant, total racial exclusion. South Africa is the most racially regulated country in the world, and also a country that discriminates increasingly against its white minority.

Absolutely disgraceful. How the hell is it acceptable in 2026 to exclude South African citizens from opportunities simply because they’re white? We’ve spent decades being told that discrimination based on race is wrong. Apparently that principle only applies when it’s politically convenient. Racism is racism, regardless of who’s doing it.
They want you to believe that farm murders are just normal crime. They are not. Commercial farmers are murdered at significant rates. On top of that, the attacks are often exceptionally brutal. There is often no or very little theft involved. There is also ample evidence of political motives in an alarming number of these attacks.
Whatever your view on the Akademia project, this is remarkable. The pictures are from March, May, August and October. They have a vision, a budget, a timeline and deadlines, and they are getting it done. Every cent is spent where it is allocated and accounted for.
🇿🇦 South Africa, history is going to judge you brutally.
There is absolutely no logical reason to remain hostile to the most brilliant engineering mind of our entire generation.
We are talking about the man who turned science fiction into reality, a man who engineered autonomous driving, built rocket-boosted supercars, and will undoubtedly be the reason humanity puts cars on Mars.
The rest of the world is celebrating. Humanity is pleased.
The global community looks on in absolute awe of what is being built right now on Earth.
Yet, you choose hostility.
You do not want to be that stubborn, bitter corner of the world that became completely tech-illiterate.
You do not want history to remember you as the society that chose to be blind, dumb, and small-minded, fighting against raw innovation and waging a petty war against the world's greatest living builder.
Wake up before history leaves you behind in the dirt.
🚨THE AFRIKANER BOY WHO NEVER CHOSE TO BE A ZULU BUT BECAME ONE. LITTLE KEANAN IS STEALING SOUTH AFRICA’S HEART ‼️‼️
Little Keanan is just a small blond white boy who grew up very poor in Jeppestown, raised among black South Africans. Nobody asked him what language he wanted to speak or which culture he wanted to live. Keanan was dropped off in front of a Zulu couple’s home, and they raised him as their own. Until today, no one knew who his parents were.
Now he dances traditional Zulu steps like he was born into it, sings Maskandi with that perfect pronunciation and pure energy that stops you mid-scroll. People keep saying he’s the next Johnny Clegg and you get it the second you watch him🎤
There’s no acting, he is just a kid who belongs exactly where destiny placed him, he never got to choose any of this.
The poverty, the streets, the people around him decided his path and somehow he’s living it with the most innocent ❤️ Colour doesn’t even register when you see him. You see a little boy showing real kindness and care for others so easily that it touches you deeply.
🌱That’s why so many South Africans are losing their hearts over him because he couldn’t choose his destiny, it was chosen for him and he is making it his own, in the most beautiful way 😁
Marxism is from the devil. It promises equality, concentrates power in the hands of a privileged few, and leaves ordinary people paying the price. History has shown us what happens when ideology becomes more important than individual freedom.
Gayton McKenzie has been in office for over 2 years. What has he delivered?
❌ Failed to secure F1 for South Africa.
❌ VAR remains undelivered.
❌ No meaningful new sports facilities, while athletes still rely on their own money to represent the country.
Promises made. Where are the results? 🇿🇦

Fuel prices are set to reach record highs on Wednesday in South Africa. This is going to have a huge inflationary ripple effect throughout the economy, starting at ground zero in the agricultural sector.
This is why AfriForum is calling for a permanent fuel levy reduction ⛽️
