A historic milestone for the North East and India's energy security.

In the presence of Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah and Hon'ble Union Minister Shri @HardeepSPuri, Assam and Nagaland signed a landmark MoU to initiate oil and mineral exploration in an area spread over 1,000 sq km in the boundary region of both States.

HCM Dr @himantabiswa and Hon'ble Chief Minister of Nagaland Shri @Neiphiu_Rio were present on this historic occasion as they witnessed the MoU signing ceremony.

A HUGE STEP IN ENHANCING BHARAT’S ENERGY SECURITY 🇮🇳

Under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji and in the distinguished presence of Adarniya @AmitShah Ji and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland Shri @Neiphiu_Rio Ji along with Hon'ble Union Minister Shri @HardeepSPuri ji; today we have signed a decisive tripartite agreement on energy exploration and extraction.

This will help unlock over 1,000 sq km of area bordering Nagaland and Assam having significant energy and mineral reserves for exploration and production.

Today’s agreement will give a new momentum to the country’s quest in achieving energy self sufficiency, driven by the North East.

It also signifies the firm resolve of the Modi Government to remove as many long standing and complex hurdles that come on the way to achieve a Vikist and Surakshit Bharat.

A new era begins for the Ashtalakshmi region.

The boundary issue between Assam and Nagaland is a long standing issue due to which the natural resources lying in the area could not be utilised for the nation.

Today with signing of the MoU in presence of Adarniya @AmitShah ji, this bottleneck is now removed.
