The US delegation was received by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Chief of Army Staff (#COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar,, and Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi upon arrival.
Welcoming the US Vice President, the DPM/FM commended US commitment to achieving lasting regional and global peace and stability. DPM/FM expressed the hope that parties would engage constructively, and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to continue facilitating the parties towards reaching lasting and durable solution to the conflict.

I warmly welcome the sagacious gesture and extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes.

The President of Pakistan paid respects at the sacred shrine of Hazrat Ali (RA) in Najaf and offered Fateha.
